The candidates must start with gaining more knowledge on the basics of operating IP data networks, the candidates get a better understanding of the protocols in the Open System Interconnection (OSI), and Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) models, purpose and use of different network devices such as bridges, routers, hubs and switches, and the appropriate components for connecting the devices to meet the network specifications.

- LAN Switching Technologies (20%)

Indepth knowledge of the switching technologies used in the Local Area Network (LAN) is of great importance for the clearing the 200-120 CCNA exam. This domain required knowledge on the basic Pass4sure 200-120 and advanced switching technologies, configuration, verification and operation of switching networks including remote access management and with the use of basic utilities, and functions of Virtual Local Area Networks (VLAN) and configuration and verification of VLANs and Per VLAN Spanning Tree Protocol (PVSTP).

- IP addressing

Though covering a small portion of the exam content, the candidates must know necessity and operation of IPv4 and IPv6 addressing, use of appropriate IPv4 and IPv6 addressing for LAN and WAN environments, and technological requirements for combined running of both IPv4 and IPv6.

- IP Routing Technologies (20%)

Knowledge on IP routing technologies is another significant domain that the candidates taking the exam must focus. This domain requires the candidate to know the basic routing concepts, different routing methods and protocols, and configuration and verification of routers, network devices, network connectivity, Open Shortest Path First (OSPF), interVLAN routing, switch virtual interface (SVI), and Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol (EIGRP).

- Troubleshooting (20%)

Troubleshooting is the other most important domain for the exam which requires the candidates to gain knowledge on the troubleshooting and resolving issues relation to VLAN, ACLs, Layer 1 technologies, spanning tree, routing, OSPF, EIGRP, interVLAN routing, implementation of WAN, EtherChannel and  identifying and correcting the common problems encountered in networks.

- WAN Technologies (10%)

The candidates need to have the knowledge about different types of WAN technologies, configuration and verification of WAN connections and PPP connections.
